Building News
Since 1969, architects, contractors and engineers alike have looked
to the ACE Guide to Construction Costs as a practical resource
for all their construction needs.
Whether the job is for general construction, remodeling, building
maintenance, or repair, the ACE Guide to Construction Costs
provides the most accurate and up-to-date data for material and
installation costs, labor and equipment rates, and even adjusted
allowances for overhead and profit.
The Guide also breaks down all unit and summary costs for every
type of structure ... all organized in the 16-Division CSI
Masterformat. It also includes prevailing wage rates for the 75
largest U.S. Metropolitan areas, square foot costs, Americans with
Disabilities costs (ADA), production and demolition rates,
energy factors, purchasing costs, equipment rental rates and much
more!
The Guide also features square foot costs for a wide variety of
building types, "quick estimating" pages that make preliminary
estimates a breeze, plus regional cost modifiers for over 280 metro
areas throughout the country.
What's more, the 2012 Edition
features a companion online tool that let's you instantly
recalculate every cost item in the book based on your own labor
rates! The output is a customized version of the entire book
in pdf format.
Develop budgets, calculate change orders, prepare formal bids and
draw up estimates faster and easier than ever before, with the peace
of mind that no element of the project is overlooked.
The ACE Guide to Construction Costs matches the

CSI MASTERFORMAT
All data in the Costbook pages and Man-Hour tables is organized
according to the CSI MASTERFORMAT - the industry standard
numbering/classification system. The data is divided into the
16 divisions as shown below. The five digit numbers within each
division correspond to the MASTERFORMAT Broadscope designations.
Each section is further broken down into MASTERFORMAT Mediumscope
designations. These numbers, in most cases, are the same as those
used in architectural and engineering specifications.
The construction estimating information in this book is divided
into two main sections: Costbook Pages and Man-Hour Tables. Each is
organized to the 16 divisions of the CSI MASTERFORMAT as shown
below. In addition, there are extensive Construction Reference
Tables, Geographic Cost Modifiers, Square Foot Tables and a detailed
Index.
Sample pages with graphic explanations are included before the
Costbook pages, Man-Hour Tables and Square Foot Tables. These
explanations, along with the discussions below, will provide a good
understanding of what is included in this book and how it can best
be used for construction estimating.
