Basic Fire
Hydraulics Workbook
by
Ron Richmond
Designed for
practicing critical hydraulic calculations
Basic Fire Hydraulics Workbook,
combines graphics, concise explanations, and step-by-step examples
and exercises to help both beginning and experienced pump operators
learn to calculate quickly and accurately while under pressure on
the fireground.
The book begins with simple math concepts and
progresses toward more complex topics, such as engine pressure,
friction loss, and drafting operation.
Realistic scenarios are incorporated into each
unit to provide context for the various math calculations presented,
and make this a handy companion to
Hydraulics for Firefighting
or any hydraulics book.
Features:
- Improve response time with by
learning methods of calculations that allow
firefighters to adapt quickly to ever-changing
nature of incidents
- Build knowledge of math
concepts and practice skills with a logical
progression of topics and exercises from beginning
to end of the workbook
- Evaluate knowledge of
critical calculations and track progress with
Answers to Exercises included in the workbook
- Quickly reference important
information with an Appendix that includes
principles and rules, formulas, charts,
abbreviations and symbols, and table of weights and
measures
