Types of Rods
KENA® Fish Tapes and Duct Rodders:
KENA offers three types of
rod in their Fish Rod’R™ fish tapes and Duct Rod’R™
rodders. A glass reinforced composite core in each, jacketed in a
rugged plastic coating ensures long life. Each has excellent
flexural and compressive strength, fatigue resistance and memory.
Their favorable electrical and thermal properties make them safe for
use in occupied conduit and duct.
Torpedo™ Rod:
Has a glass reinforced composite core with a rugged polymer outer
jacket. Used for our 3/16” (5mm) Fish Rod’R fish tapes and our
¼” (6mm) Duct Rodders, it comes wound in 16”
(406mm) and 24” (610mm)
cages. Has excellent flexural strength. Includes two male end
fittings and two tapered pulling eyes.
Apache™ Rod:
More flexible than our Vertex™ rod, but for use in less demanding
applications. It has similar strength properties to Vertex™ and has
a heavy duty polymer outer jacket that resists abrasions and reduce
wear. Includes one male and one female end fitting and one tapered
pulling eye.
Vertex™Rod:
Our highest quality rod. It is designed for demanding applications.
A unique construction process that insures greater rigidity and
strength, enables it to endure the force required for long duct runs
with multiple bends. Braided reinforcing fibers helps increase it’s
rigidity and helps bond the core to the blended polymer outer jacket
for greater toughness and abrasion resistance. Includes one male and
one female end fitting and one tapered pulling eye.
