OHSA 29 CFR 1910.269 (1)6)(iii) requires employers to ensure that their employee’s clothing does not increase the extent of injuries sustained when exposed to flames or electric arcs.

Our flame resistant (FR) FR Shield protective clothing meets or exceeds ASTM F1506 performance requirements.

Always perform a careful hazard assessment. Determine the minimum PPE cal/cm2 rating based on the severity of the arc hazard.

• 12 cal/cm2 to 40 cal/cm2 ATPV ratings
• Made from arc flash resistant, inherently Flame Resistant (not just chemically treated) fabric, which cannot be washed or worn away.
• Sewn with Nomex® thread
• Meets current ASTM F1506 and NFPA 70E standards.
• Sizes M, L, XL, 2XL, and 3XL available from stock
• Other sizes available by special order
• Jackets are 32” long and have Nomex® wristlets
• Jackets have hook & pile front closure
• Jackets (12 cal/cm2) are intended to be used with OEL’s High Performance Hat and Shield Kit
