Technical Rescuer:
Confined Space Levels I and II

by George J. Browne, Gus S. Crist

TECHNICAL RESCUER: CONFINED SPACE LEVELS I AND II meets the intent of Chapter 7 of the NFPA 1006, 2008 edition.

This book drives the reader to become proactive in rescue by recognizing the hazards of a confined space, identifying which of those hazards can be managed and then taking the steps to manage the hazard. It also covers the basic information that provides the foundation for rescue operations.

Advanced confined rescue skills come from knowing these essential elements, defining the problem and then applying your knowledge and training. TECHNICAL RESCUER: CONFINED SPACE LEVELS I AND II reiterates that there is no single method for an effective confined space rescue, but there are certain key elements that are applicable to all confined space rescues.

Methods covered include preplanning a rescue, providing built in rescue equipment and managing the hazards of a confined space, as well as a critical discussion about accident prevention.

  • New chapter on evaluating the Confined Space Rescue Team.
  • This book in the Technical Rescuer Series is a revision of Confined Space Rescue by Browne & Crist.
  • Text meets national consensus standards and OSHA requirements.
  • Simple approach that is flexible enough to be used to meet varying local requirements.
