The ACE Guide to Construction
Costs breaks down all unit and summary costs for every type of
structure, all organized in the 16-Division CSI Masterformat.
Whether the job involves general construction, remodeling,
building maintenance, or repair, the 2024 Guide to Construction
Costs provides the most accurate and up-to-date data for material
and installation costs, labor and equipment rates, and even adjusted
allowances for overhead and profit.
For ease of use, all data is presented in the traditional
16-Division CSI format, with labor and material costs clearly broken
A very popular feature of this reference are the Quick Estimating
Sections for preliminary conceptual budget estimates. These sections
combine labor and materials costs for widely used materials
(including roofing materials, doors, windows, stone & woodwork and

up with a reasonable rough estimate for many jobs in a matter of

- Year-by-year inflation rates for materials and labor for the
past 50 years.
- Newly-expanded regional cost modifiers for over 600 metro
areas, so you can adjust the national average costs in the book
to your local conditions.
All data in the Costbook pages and Man-Hour tables is organized
according to the CSI MASTERFORMAT - the industry standard
numbering/classification system. The data is divided into the
16 divisions as shown below. The five digit numbers within each
division correspond to the MASTERFORMAT Broadscope designations.
Each section is further broken down into MASTERFORMAT Mediumscope
designations. These numbers, in most cases, are the same as those
used in architectural and engineering specifications.
The construction estimating information in this book is divided
into two main sections: Costbook Pages and Man-Hour Tables. Each is
organized to the 16 divisions of the CSI MASTERFORMAT as shown
below. In addition, there are extensive Construction Reference
Tables, Geographic Cost Modifiers, Square Foot Tables and a detailed
Sample pages with graphic explanations are included before the
Costbook pages, Man-Hour Tables and Square Foot Tables. These
explanations, along with the discussions below, will provide a good
understanding of what is included in this book and how it can best
be used for construction estimating.
